Frédéric Bazille
1841–1870
Bazille shared a studio with Monet and Renoir in the 1860s and helped support them financially when their own work went unsold. His promising career was cut short at twenty-eight when he was killed in the Franco-Prussian War, leaving behind a small but assured body of work.
