Berthe Morisot
1841–1895
One of the founding members of the Impressionist group, Morisot exhibited in seven of the eight Impressionist shows — more than Monet himself. She painted domestic life and family scenes with a loose, rapid brushstroke, turning subjects long dismissed as minor into some of the movement's most inventive work.
